‘Kabaret,’ with Patricia Kaas

French singer Patricia Kaas brings her husky voice to Athens this week to present «Kabaret,» her most recent stage production. The single performance will take place at the Badminton Theater tomorrow. In «Kabaret,» Kaas interprets a number of songs in a performance that pays homage to the elegant 1930s. The show is defined by a mise-en-scene that showcases the French diva’s creative versatility against a cabaret atmosphere. A stage veteran, Kaas performed for the first time in public at the age of 11. Born into a family of seven children in Alsace, in the northeast, in 1966, she has built a solid career in France and abroad, while credits also include appearing alongside Jeremy Irons in Claude Lelouch’s «And Now… Ladies and Gentlemen» in 2002, as well as representing France at the Eurovision Song Contest last year – «Et s’il fallait le faire» ended up in eighth place. In Athens, Kaas will be interpreting some of her signature songs, including «D’Allemagne» and «Mademoiselle chante le blues.» «Kabaret» at the Badminton Theater (Goudi Military Park, tel 210.884.0600) tomorrow at 9 p.m. For tickets, also Fnac and Public outlets.
