KESO award for the Onassis Foundation

At its congress last Saturday on «The Importance of Greek Education and Culture in the Era of Globalization,» the Athens Archbishopric’s Family Support Center (KESO) presented an award to the Alexander S. Onassis Foundation in recognition of its great contribution to Greek society and especially to the goals of KESO. Christodoulos, Archbishop of Athens and All Greece and KESO president, presented the award. With the support and funding of the Onassis Foundation, KESO runs a mothers’ shelter, 60 parents’ schools and a reception and information center. At the same congress, the American Foundation for Greek Language and Culture (AIEGP) named Onassis Foundation President Stelios Papadimitriou Person of the Year for his contribution to the promotion of Greek culture throughout the world and his support for programs for education, health, social contribution and the environment. The benchmark general index added 0.96 percent to 1,886.67 points but ended the week with losses of more than 4 percent.
