Catch up on new Swiss artworks at upcoming exhibit
An exhibition hosted by the Municipality of Athens in cooperation with the new Swiss Society and the Swiss Archaeological School in Greece is to open at the Athens Cultural Center, 50 Academias, on Friday, October 4 at 7.30 p.m. The invitations are signed by Mayor Dimitris Avramopuolos and Swiss Ambassador Maria Luisa Caroni. The exhibition is to last until October 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and in the afternoons from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., apart from on Mondays and Sunday afternoons. For further information call 010 3621601. Gone are the days when, as Orson Welles asked in the film «The Third Man»:«What did the Swiss achieve who didn’t fight in the war? Cuckoo clocks?» In fact, Swiss artists have made their presence strongly felt in modern art trends, as is only too evident in this coming exhibition which is awaited with great interest.
