Alexandre Desplat | Athens | September 9

French-Greek composer Alexandre Desplat will conduct the 100-member Athens State Orchestra at the Herod Atticus Theater on September 9. The Oscar-winning composer was born in Paris to a French father and a Greek mother. His soundtrack work includes music for Peter Webber’s “Girl with a Pearl Earring,” Stephen Gaghan’s “Syriana,” Ben Affleck’s “Argo” and “The Imitation Game,” directed by Morten Tyldum. Tickets, which range from 10 (students and unemployed) to 65 euros, can be purchased at Public, Papasotiriou, Seven Spots, Ianos, Reload Stores at Media Markt and online at www.viva.gr.
