The Embassy of Brazil is organizing a tribute to Brazilian singer-composer Tim Maia (1942-1998) at the Gagarin 205 venue in Athens on Friday, October 9. The program is scheduled to start at 8.30 p.m. with the screening of “Tim Maia,” a biopic directed by Mauro Lima (free entrance). The film will have English subtitles. At 11 p.m., the Superbacana ensemble will perform works by Maia. Admission to the performance costs 10 euros for tickets purchased in advance and 12 euros at the door, and includes a caipirinha cocktail (served until 11.30 p.m.). The evening continues with DJs playing Brazilian music after midnight.
