Carmencitas | Athens | To April

The Greek National Opera presents “Carmencitas,” an opera-ballet for children. The production, currently on stage at the Olympia Theater, is based on George Bizet’s music for “Carmen” and is choreographed by Maria Kousouni. The story takes place on a Sunday morning in a park, where various groups of people share their joy of living. “Carmencitas” features the company’s children’s theater orchestra, principal dancers, soloists and corps de ballet. The National Opera Orchestra is led by Chryssanthos Alissafis, Raphael Pylarinos and Giorgos Papadopoulos. Shows run through April. Admission ranges from 8 to 20 euros (visibility is limited in the 5-10 euros seats). Tickets are on sale at the theater’s box office.
