Holiday Weekend | Athens | To March 14
The City of Athens is organizing a series of events celebrating the end of Carnival. On Saturday, March 12, Spyros Polykandriotis performs popular Greek songs at Thymarakia Square in Kato Patissia, starting at 1 p.m., followed by a performance by the City of Athens Big Band in Klafthmonos Square at 6 p.m. On Sunday, March 13, the Rebetien ensemble will perform rebetika songs on pedestrian Pandrosou Street in Monastiraki, central Athens, at noon. On Clean Monday, March 14, singer Glykeria and clarinetist Vassilis Saleas will perform on Philipappou Hill at 11.30 a.m.
