African Festival | Athens | May 21-22

In collaboration with African communities in Athens, a number of the continent's embassies and honorary consulates in the Greek capital are organizing the 15th African, Food, Music and Handicrafts Festival at the Moraitis School on Saturday, May 21, and Sunday, May 22. The event includes cuisine, handicrafts, music, dance, a fashion show and an exhibition of photographs by Maria Michalinos tracing the festival’s 15-year history. The countries participating in the two-day event are Algeria, Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, DR Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Libya, Madagascar, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, Seychelles, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia and Zimbabwe. Doors will open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Admission costs 2 euros for adults (free admission for children under the age of 10).
