Rene Pollesch | Athens | June 17 & 18
The Greek Festival pays tribute to the Volksbuehne with a series of performances by directors with the historic German theater company. On Saturday and Sunday, June 17-18, Rene Pollesch presents his poignantly funny “I Love You, But I've Chosen Entdramatisierung,” which explores the notion of what we define as home and what we see as the future. The performances will take place in the Courtyard of the Pireos 260 venue, starting at 10 p.m., and will be in German with Greek surtitles. Tickets cost 20 euros. On Saturday, there will be a masterclass with eminent German theater scholar Hans-Thies Lehmann on “Postdramatic Theater, Rene Pollesch and Berlin’s Volksbuehne,” at 7 p.m.and a party after the show at 11.30 p.m.
