Volksbuehne Tribute | Athens | June 23 & 24

The Greek Festival's tribute to Berlin's historic Volksbuehne Theater with director Herbert Fritsch's production of Dieter Roth’s self-published 1974 book “Murmel” (Mumbling), 178 pages of one single word: Murmel. One of the most celebrated actors to be associated with the Volksbuehne, Fritsch employs 14 actors to elevate the text into a hypnotic, psychedelic experience paying homage to the late Roth, a prolific, experimental artist whose work is celebrated for its virtuosity, wild energy, and dark undertones. The performance will take place at the Olympia Theater on Friday, June 23, and Saturday, June 24, at 9 p.m. and tickets prices start at 20 euros. For details, visit www.greekfestival.gr.
