“Ion,” a lesser-known play in the repertoire of great tragedian Euripides, follows an orphan abandoned at birth as he discovers his true parentage. Written in the 5th century BC, the play tells a fictional origin story of the Ionians, an ancient Greek tribe. Set to music by film score composer Nikos Touliatos, the Alpha Theater will present “Ion” at the Ancient Theater of Dodoni, which is located near the site of the ancient oracle of Dodona. Tickets cost 10 euros and can be purchased at www.viva.gr. The performance begins at 9.15 p.m. For more information, visit www.alfaidea.gr.
