United Airlines adding direct flights to Greece

United Airlines Holdings Inc said on Monday it was adding a second direct flight to Greece from July as the country announced it would reopen for tourism to vaccinated travelers from the United States.

Its service to Athens with daily flights from Washington Dulles will begin on July 1 and continue until October 3, and will be added to the existing summer service from Newark Liberty International Airport, which resumes on June 3.

Τhe new route will mark the first time that daily non-stop flights have been introduced between Washington DC and Athens.

The airline also said in a statement that it would add direct flights to Croatia and Iceland, the bookings for which have already begun.
