Athens Airport expects 11.5 mln passengers in 2021
The management of Athens International Airport expects passenger traffic to increase to 45% of its 2019 figure this year – or 11.5 million passengers. That would constitute a significant rise from last year’s 8.07 million.
However, according to the operator’s note attached to its financial report, that forecast “remains particularly uncertain given that the evolution of the pandemic, the process for the administering of vaccines, the actions on the European Union level for the coordination of travel measures and the health or vaccination certificates are all parameters that continue getting shaped.”
