Job vacancies double in Q4 2021, y-o-y
Jobless benefits. Unemployed citizens will have to satisfy certain income and property criteria to remain in the Manpower Organization (OAED) register and secure benefits. The Labor Ministry blueprint of changes also notes actively job-seeking as an obligation in return for benefits: If they skip three OAED programs or jobs, they will be taken off the register.
The number of vacant job positions in the Greek economy, apart from the primary sector and household activities, jumped 99.3% in the fourth quarter of 2021 compared with the corresponding period in 2020, totaling 14,713, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) said on Thursday.
Vacant job positions totaled 7,382 in the fourth quarter of 2020.
Vacant job positions were down 31.4% in the fourth quarter of 2020 compared with the same period in 2019.
