Shares slide again, CCHBC outperforms

Stocks eased yesterday in a mixed session, with bottler Coca-Cola HBC gaining ahead of the release of its full year results early today. CCHBC gained 3.35 percent to 13.58 euros, while the Athens benchmark general index eased 0.08 percent to 1,676.05 points. «CCHBC’s shares are undervalued at this price, a fact which is drawing the interest of mainly institutional investors. We don’t expect the company to unpleasantly surprise us tomorrow with 2002 results, so that may be being taken positively by the market,» said analyst Elias Lazaris at Artion Securities. Alpha Bank fell 1.45 percent to 10.90 euros after saying it will raise some lending rates. Blue chips eased 0.40 percent to 829.86 points. Mid-caps lost 0.40 percent and small-caps edged up 0.08 percent. Turnover on the Greek bourse was 46.40 million euros, with 14.6 million shares changing hands. Losers beat winners 158 to 119, with 77 shares unchanged on 354 traded. (Reuters)
