TANKERS The firm rates are maintained in all areas. – In the Med., BP, loading Banias March 11, has fixed M/T «Bravehart» at 395, while Exxonmobil confirm M/T «Astro Altair,» loading Banias March 5 with destination Augusta, at the same levels. – In the same area and on Suezmaxes, Petraco has fixed M/T «Front Symphony,» loading Ceyhan March 3, for 140,000 tons of cargo at W/S 265. – In the North Sea, Stasco on Aframaxes has fixed M/T «Vancouver Spirit» for a cross UK Cont. trip at W/S 255. – Caribs is getting firmer, with the 70,000-ton cargo liftings having been fixed at W/S 330. – Stusco has fixed M/T «Sks Tagus» for 70,000 tons of cargo, loading ECM March 11, discharging US Gulf, at W/S 330, while Blanchard for same cargo quantity, loading March 8, same destination, has fixed Conoco tonnage at W/S 310. DRY CARGO Stable conditions, with Kleimar on Capers having fixed M/V «Aquagrace,» 167,102 dwt, built 1997, delivery Rotterdam March 10-15, for 11-14 months’ period at USD 18,500 daily. – On Panamax, in Far East Noble has fixed M/V «Wadi Alarish,» 64,214 dwt, built 1994, delivery Thailand Feb. 21-25, trip via India, redelivery China, at USD 11,250 daily. – In Atlantic, ABT has fixed M/V «Giovanni Bottiglieri,» 75,265 dwt, built 1995, delivery Passero Feb. 23-25, for 5-7 months’ trading at USD 14,000 daily. – On smaller sizes, Pan Ocean has fixed M/V «Roberto C,» 45,210 dwt, built 1994, delivery Continent Feb. 26-27, redelivery Far East, at USD 11,250 daily. – On grain cargoes, Dreyfus has fixed M/V «Alanya» for 30,000 tons of cargo, loading Feb. 25-28 Black Sea, discharging S. Africa, at USD 19.00 per ton with 6,000 tons’ load and 5,000 tons’ discharge.
