Loan growth in the red

Credit growth dipped into negative territory in December, as the economy moved deeper into recession, according to Bank of Greece data.

The central bank said on Tuesday that enterprises and households in Greece owed a total of 257.1 billion euros, representing an annual drop of 0.2 percent. In November, credit expansion rose by 0.4 percent, the bank said in a statement.
