Some 50,000 Greek executives pack bags

Some 50,000 business executives in Greece have given up on looking for work locally and are applying for positions abroad, according to Marios Kyriakou, president of KPMG Hellas.

Deteriorating labour market conditions have forced a growing number of Greeks to look for work abroad as unemployment hit a record of 13.9 percent in November due to the deepening recession.

Kyriakou said that KPMG will launch several programs aimed at helping company executives find work by providing training in areas such as interview techniques and networking. The programs are free of charge.
