Stock rise on solid CCH gains

Greek stocks added 1.16 percent on Tuesday on selective blue chip buying with investors keeping an eye out for news from the Eurogroup meeting taking place in Brussels.

The Athens bourse?s benchmark general index ended at 1,266.93 points, retreating from a intra-session high of 1,275 points.

The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index added 1.29 percent to 565.57 points.

Coca-Cola Hellenic (CCH) outperformed, jumping 4.10 percent to 18.01 euros. Toy retailer Jumbo rose 2 percent to 5.10 euros and Marfin Investment Group (MIG) leaped 3.28 percent to 0.63 euros.

Earlier, MIG said that it will put off a decision to go ahead with a share capital increase due to ?increased economic and political uncertainties.? MIG said that it will re-examine the decision for a capital boost in September.

Banks firmed 1.47 percent.

National Bank moved ahead 2.32 percent to 4.86 euros and peer Alpha ended at 3.18 euros, up 0.95 percent.

OTE telecom increased 1.99 percent to 6.15 euros and power utility PPC dipped 1.04 percent to 9.50 euros.

Turnover reached 78.9 million euros versus 74 million in the previous session.
