Summer sales promise good deals
Greek consumers are expected to come across some noteworthy shopping bargains this season, given that the summer sales period gets under way on July 15 and continues through August 31. Due to the gloomy current financial climate discounts are expected to reach high levels this year.
According to the Athens Traders Association, shops owners are obliged to mark the original price (which is crossed out) along with the new price of items going on sale. While the extent of the discount depends on the business owners themselves, sales percentages should be clearly marked.
The association is also advising consumers to shop around before buying and to base their purchases on the both quality and the discounted price.
