Stocks claw back most lost ground

Stocks recovered most of the losses incurred during Thursday?s session, although bank stocks are likely to see more sellers in the short term.

The general Athens Exchange (ATHEX) index ended at 1,264.23 points, declining 0.12 percent from Wednesday?s close at 1,265.78 points, having dropped by as much as 1.65 percent during the session. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index gave up 0.34 percent to end at 564.23 points.

ATEbank crashed by 25.93 percent, while Ellaktor gained 5.58 percent.

In total, 68 stocks moved up, 61 went down and 37 remained unchanged. Turnover came to 101.7 million euros Thursday, up from 77.5 million on Wednesday.
