Breakfast benefits for Greek hotels

Hoteliers who start serving Greek breakfasts with traditional and organic local products in their accommodation units will enjoy significant economic benefits in doing so, a study by the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels (HCH) indicated on Tuesday.

In the short term, introducing Greek products to the breakfast table at hotels will push the number of repeat guests up by 49 percent, lead to a 15 percent increase in bookings, raise turnover by 10 percent, and see a 6 percent rise in the hotel?s promotion through the mass and electronic media, the study found.

In presenting the chamber?s initiative yesterday, HCH president Giorgos Tsakiris said a book of guidelines will soon be issued.

The chamber is also planning to produce a sticker for hotels taking part in the Greek breakfast program to display on their premises.
