Declining trend in private health sector

The market for private health services showed a major decline in 2010, going back to levels unseen since 2007, a survey carried out by Stochasis consultants showed on Tuesday.

The sector saw a 12 percent overall drop year-on-year, with general clinics seeing their turnover shrink by 15 percent while the figure for maternity clinics was 13 percent.

Psychiatric clinics, on the other hand, only showed a 1 percent decrease in turnover.
