Tenth day of losses for stocks

The main index on the Greek bourse posted a decline for the 10th day in succession as uncertainty over a second bailout for Greece and anticipation of stress test results for local banks curbed buying interest on Friday.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index ended at 1,176.88 points, falling 0.95 percent from Thursday?s close at 1,188.19 points. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index declined by 1.22 percent to end at 509.51 points.

Marfin Popular Bank outperformed among blue chips, adding 4.26 percent, followed by OPAP (up 2.21 percent), while the biggest losses were for Ellaktor (down 6.20 percent).

In total, 41 stocks moved up, 102 went down and 38 remained unchanged. AEGEK posted the highest gains, adding 18.75 percent, while Maillis was the worst off with a 15.38 percent drop.

Turnover came to just 61 million euros on Friday, down from 74.2 million on Thursday.
