Stocks stay southbound for fourth day

Stock losses across Europe sent the local bourse lower for the fourth day in a row on Thursday.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index ended at 1,209.55 points, shedding 1.42 percent from Wednesday?s closing figure of 1,226.92 points. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index dropped 2.08 percent to end at 528.84 points.

Public Power Corporation fell 1.92 percent to a historic low of 8.70 euros. Marfin Investment Group gave up 5.88 percent while Motor Oil added 2.48 percent.

In total, 52 stocks moved up, 65 went down and 45 remained unchanged.

Turnover came to just 47.7 million euros.
