Proton could join forces with Attica

Proton Bank could soon enter a form of cooperation with Attica Bank, the latter announced on Tuesday, as the former is getting to grips with the authorities? investigation into possible money laundering regarding the activities of the Lavrentis Lavrentiadis Group of Companies, to which Proton belongs.

?Attica Bank will examine, in the context of its expressed strategy, the possibility of cooperation with Proton due to the synergies to emerge and the need for the creation of a larger entity which in the current conditions is essential for the growth of the group,? the Athens-listed lender announced on Tuesday.

Attica?s assets amount to 4.6 billion euros and its equities to 521.7 million, while Proton?s assets reach up to 3.8 billion euros and its equities to 352 million.
