Greek-owned companies get new vessels

The Greek-owned commercial fleet has grown by 11 vessels within one month, as several shipyards, mostly from Asia, have started delivering the ships they had had orders for, according to data from Golden Destiny.

The new vessels consist of nine dry-bulk carriers, one container ship and one tanker.

The same shipbrokers suggested that since July there have been four new orders in place for dry-bulkers and one for a tanker.

Today the Greek-owned fleet numbers 3,859 vessels, representing 14.9 percent of the global capacity and 7.8 percent in the absolute number of ships.
