The political instability that continued throughout the day on Friday sent most blue chips on a southbound course as market players waited in vain for the dust to settle and business life to return to normal.

Hellenic Postbank led the blue chips with gains of 8.02 percent, while Bank of Cyprus was hit with the biggest losses (7.47 percent).

In total, 75 stocks went up, 76 went down and 20 remained unchanged. Turnover amounted to 47.1 million euros, against Thursday?s 84.5 million.
