TANKERS Market at stable levels, with modern Aframaxes in the Med. around W/S 155, while Suezmaxes at W/S 135-140 for 135,000-ton cargoes. – Cont. with no recent fixtures but W/S 140 is expected for 80,000-ton cargoes, while Caribs remain firm with 70,000-ton cargo liftings being fixed at W/S 270. – W. Africa with a lot of VLCC fixings with destinations mainly toward India. – On Suezmaxes in W. Africa, Exxonmobil has fixed M/T «Minerva Nounou» for 130,000 tons of cargo, loading May 11, discharging US Gulf, at W/S 132.5. – In the Med., Shell for 80,000 tons of cargo, loading Libya end-April, discharging Med., has fixed M/T «Arafura» at W/S 150. – On Suezmaxes, Sibneft has fixed M/T «Georgios S» for 135,000 tons of cargo, loading May 4 Russia, discharging UKC/Med., at W/S 145. – In the Cont., Gunvor for 80,000 tons of cargo, loading April 25 Baltic, discharging UKC, has fixed M/T «Athina M» at W/S 250. – In Caribs, Petrobras has fixed M/T «Aegean Spirit» for 70,000 tons of cargo, loading April 25, discharging US Gulf, at W/S 270. – In W. Africa and on VLCCs, Koch for 260,000 tons of cargo, loading May 8, discharging US Gulf, has fixed M/T «Sovereign Unity» at W/S 92.5. DRY CARGO Trading had slowed significantly ahead of Easter holidays and is expected to start moving again. – Rates are still firm for all sizes. – On Capers, there are rumors that M/V «Bulk Asia,» 170,578 dwt, built 2000, open May 11, Immingham was fixed at USD 35,000 daily. – In the East, M/V «Matilde,» 160,013 dwt, built 1997, for an Australian round-trip voyage was fixed at USD 28,000 daily. – On Panamaxes in Far East, Worldlink has fixed M/V «Red Rose,» 6,629 dwt, built 2003, delivery S.Korea end April for 23-25 month period at USD 12,350 daily. – In the Atlantic, ENC has fixed M/V «Joyous World,» 69,286 dwt, built 1995, delivery April 22-28 UKC trip via France, redelivery Passero, at USD 18,700 daily. – On smaller sizes, IVS has fixed M/V «El Tango,» 34,698 dwt, built 1983, delivery S. Africa end April, redelivery Med., at USD 10,000 daily.
