PSI deal said to be just a ?whisker? away

Prime Minister Lucas Papademos held his second meeting in 24 hours with the head of the Institute of International Finance (IIF), Charles Dallara on Friday as negotiations for the private sector involvement plan (PSI+) are close to a successful end, according to Greece?s finance minister.

Evangelos Venizelos stated last night that talks were ?a whisker away from a positive conclusion,? after sources from the prime minister?s office had said that a deal within the weekend was the government?s priority so as for Papademos to present it at Monday?s European Union summit in Brussels.

Sources pointed to a convergence in talks regarding the new bonds? interest rate.
