Bill boosts EYDAP value before sell-off
An Infrastructure Ministry bill tabled in Parliament bolsters the value of the Athens Water and Sewage Company (EYDAP), which has been lined up for privatization.
The company, which also operates the pictured Marathon Reservoir, will be able to directly collect revenues from bills in the areas it is going to expand to, including Eastern Attica and a number of islands off the coast of the capital, thus avoiding the added costs of intermediates, currently the local authorities.
EYDAP will also be able to price water depending on the cost of its investment: «Pricing will be done in a rational fashion, factoring in the cost of any investment to be required,» said EYDAP Chief Executive Officer Nikos Bardis.
