Greece and Italy reiterate support for gas pipeline
Italy and Greece reiterated their support for the Interconnector Turkey-Greece-Italy pipeline, according to a joint e-mailed statement from the Italian Industry Ministry and Greek Environment and Energy Ministry on Monday.
The two governments believe the ?ITGI is the most advanced and mature? of available projects, ?and therefore the best one to reach the goal of quickly achieving the infrastructure needed to furnish the European market with natural gas from the Caspian region and potentially from the Middle East, and from the Eastern Mediterranean regions, creating a hub in Southeast Europe,? according to the statement.
