Index rises as turnover slides anew
The week on the local bourse ended with reduced turnover ahead of a long weekend and moderate gains for the main index, while most stocks posted losses.
The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index ended the session at 749.69 points, adding 0.42 percent to Thursday?s closing level of 746.53 points. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index expanded by 0.67 percent to close at 305.25 points.
National Bank led the blue chips with gains of 3.90 percent, but OTE telecom lost 3.23 percent.
In total, 59 stocks registered gains, 83 posted losses and 29 remained unchanged.
Turnover amounted to 46.1 million euros, down from Thursday?s 65.1 million.
