Gas grid operator DESFA sees revenues grow

Natural gas grid operator DESFA SA said profit in 2011 rose after revenue increased from gas transmission services and from the use of the Revithoussa liquefied natural gas terminal facility.

Profit last year increased by around 150 percent from 2010 to 86 million euros, the Athens-based company said in an e-mailed statement on Tuesday.

DESFA said it expects average yearly net income to be more than the level of 2011 in the 10-year period 2012 to 2021.

The government plans to sell DESFA, a fully owned unit of state-run gas supplier DEPA SA, either as a separate entity or together with its parent, Energy Minister Giorgos Papaconstantinou said on February 15.
