Investors have turned their back on local bourse

There is still no sign of life on the Greek bourse, with stocks edging southward for another day on Friday, while turnover remained at particularly disappointing levels for one more day. Throughout the week the main index only ranged across 24 points.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index ended the day at 695.76 points, shedding 0.13 percent from Thursday?s closing level of 696.66 points. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index fell by 0.09 percent to close at 267.02 points, although the small-cap index gained 1.43 percent.

Marfin Investment Group continued its growth, heading up by 6.99 percent, while OTE telecom shed 4.30 percent.

In total, 68 stocks registered gains, 47 posted losses and 28 remained unchanged.

Turnover amounted to 16.7 million euros, almost on a par with Thursday?s 16.6 million.
