OPAP to distribute high dividend

OPAP plans to distribute at least 50 percent of 2012 net income as a dividend to shareholders, Chief Executive Office Ioannis Spanoudakis said Tuesday.

?Next year we aim at distributing a minimum 50 percent of OPAP?s 2012 net profit to our shareholders,? Spanoudakis said in an e-mailed copy of a letter to shareholders.

?Furthermore, if the 10 percent extraordinary taxation is not enacted in 2012, we intend to return the corresponding amount back to our shareholders.? Spanoudakis said OPAP will face challenges in 2012 as Greece?s economy contracts and will focus on its existing games as well as rolling out video lottery terminals. [Bloomberg]
