Investors await signs of new gov?t policy

Investor reservations prevailed during Thursday?s bourse session as stocks edged lower, posting the lowest daily turnover in the last 12 sessions. The market is unlikely to start picking up again until it sees the first signs of a strategy by the new government.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index ended at 578.31 points, shedding 0.24 percent from Wednesday?s closing figure of 579.69 points. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index dropped 0.88 percent to close at 211.49 points.

METKA was the worst off among blue chips with losses of 4.28 percent, whereas Coca-Cola HBC stole the show with gains of 1.85 percent.

In total, 46 stocks posted gains, 64 recorded losses and 29 remained unchanged.

Turnover amounted to 26.5 million euros, down from Wednesday?s 31.8 million.
