OTE warns of scam

OTE telecom has warned clients that alternative service suppliers may try to cheat them.

OTE issued a statement on Thursday saying that it has received a number of complaints from subscribers to its landline network saying that they have received misleading visits from representatives of other phone companies presenting themselves as associates or even employees of OTE, who then convince the OTE subscriber to provide information, before recording their personal data and registering them with the company they represent.

The telecom giant stressed that its employees do not visit clients? houses and urged anyone wishing to enter its client base to visit its retail network.

It added that complaints should be referred to the telecoms watchdog (EETT).
