After Monday?s crash, the Greek bourse reverted to a snail?s pace mode on Tuesday, inching higher instead of posting a rebound, as would normally be the case following a day of losses that amounted to 7 percent.
The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index ended at 586.64 points, up just 0.10 percent compared to Monday closing figure of 586.04 points. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index grew by a more respectable 0.43 percent to close at 210.49 points.
Jumbo (up 3.57 percent), Public Power Corporation (3.11 percent) and Alpha Bank (3.03 percent) were the day?s biggest gainers among the blue chips, while Viohalco gave up 2.68 percent.
In total, 73 stocks posted gains, 45 recorded losses and 21 remained unchanged.
Turnover came to no more than 16.9 million euros, down from Monday?s 36.3 million.
