Halyvourgia plant to return to operation in September

The Aspropyrgos plant of steel company Halyvourgia Ellados, west of Athens, will reopen in September, as it will probably take the whole of August for the factory to be cleaned and serviced following nine months of inactivity due to a workers? strike that ended last weekend.

A management source told Kathimerini that ?after nine months during which the factory was closed, there is damage to the installations, but the main thing is that a steel unit cannot return to operation within a few days unless safety requirements are secured for employees and the machinery is maintained for the plant to return to operation.?

In previous years when the factory operated normally, the annual maintenance of the facility was carried out in August.
