Airport arrivals fall

International arrivals at Greek airports dropped 3.1 percent in the first eight months of the year, according to the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE).

The number of people arriving from abroad declined to 8.5 million, from 8.8 million in the same period a year earlier, the Athens-based association said Tuesday in a statement on its website.

In August, international arrivals dropped 1 percent to 2.2 million.

The 15 airports covered in the survey account for 95 percent of all arrivals by air from abroad. [Bloomberg]
