Juncker calls for Cyprus bailout talks to speed up
Luxembourg?s Jean-Claude Juncker, head of the group of euro-area finance ministers, said Friday that Cyprus and the so-called troika — consisting of the European Commission, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund — must speed up the process of negotiating a package of external aid for the island country.
?There is no time to lose,? Juncker said in Nicosia, after meeting with Cypriot President Dimitris Christofias. Juncker said he is confident a solution to Cyprus?s ?very serious? problems will be found ?in the next few weeks.? [Bloomberg]
