Airport arrivals drop 2.5 pct from last year
The drop in airport arrivals from abroad in the first nine months of the year has been reduced to 2.5 percent year-on-year, according to data released on Monday by the Association of Hellenic Tourism Enterprises (SETE).
Putting Athens International Airport data aside, there was actually a 0.4 percent yearly increase.
August and September saw the smallest decline rates, of just 0.2 percent, against a drop of 12.5 percent in February and 11.2 percent in January.
Arrivals at the country?s 15 biggest airports amounted to 10.3 million in the year to September, down from 10.56 million in the same period in 2011.
AIA saw an 11.9 percent decline, while Cephalonia enjoyed a 13.3 percent yearly increase.
