Hatzidakis to discuss with banks ways to ease customers’ debt burden

Development Minister Costis Hatzidakis is due to meet representatives of Greek banks on Monday to discuss ways of easing the debt load on customers who have taken out loans.

Speaking to Skai radio on Monday morning, Hatzidakis said that the two sides would discuss the law for indebted households and the loan instalments of customers who can no longer meet their commitments.

In its election campaign, New Democracy had advocated an extension of loan and mortgage maturities for debtors in order for their repayments to be smaller.
