Inflation cools down in December

Despite the major hike in the price of heating oil this winter, inflation in Greece dropped to just 0.3 percent in December compared with prices a year earlier.

The figures released on Thursday by Eurostat show that Greece had the lowest inflation in the eurozone last month.

The consumer price index had stood at 0.4 percent in November 2012 and at 2.2 percent in December 2011.
