King George Hotel to shut down for two months in spring

The King George Hotel in Athens’s central Syntagma Square will close for about two months this spring as it undergoes a technical inspection and completes a maintenance program, according to Tasos Homenidis, managing director of Lampsa.

The company, which owns the adjacent Hotel Grande Bretagne, has leased the King George for a period of 20 years from Eurobank.

The hotel, scheduled to reopen in the early summer, will also be inspected by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, which is set to take on the unit’s management.
