More stock losses amid low turnover

Greek stocks headed south for a fourth day in succession on Wednesday, with turnover shrinking further as investors stayed away due to a lack of any concrete developments on the fiscal and corporate fronts.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 963.45 points, shedding 0.38 percent from Tuesday’s 967.15.

The large-cap FTSE/ATHEX-25 index contracted by 0.50 percent, ending at 317.65 points.

National Bank continued its slide for a fourth session, falling 5.36 percent. This contribute to total losses of 16.08 percent from last Friday for the lender. Alpha added 2.17 percent.

In total 66 stocks recorded gains, 76 sustained losses and 26 remained unchanged.

Turnover amounted to 43.3 million euros, even lower than Tuesday’s 46.9 million.
