Patra hotels fill up for Carnival weekend
The culmination of the Carnival period this weekend has brought some relief to hoteliers in Patra and nearby Rio.
The 20 hotels in the city center of Patra are reporting an occupancy rate of almost 100 percent, but this was only achieved thanks to late bookings made earlier this week, unlike previous years when most bookings had been made at least two weeks in advance.
Due to the lack of demand this year, several hotels in the suburbs of Patra and nearby areas opted to remain closed, while those in the Peloponnesian city’s center are now offering meals included in the room rates.
