Greek group Goody’s-Flocafe set to enter Libyan market

The Goody’s-Everest food catering group that belongs to Vivartia has signed an agreement with Libya’s Tasty Franchise Ltd to expand to the North African country’s market, aiming at 7 million new customers.

The deal, announced on Tuesday, provides for the operation of at least 10 Goody’s fast-food restaurants and 10 Flocafe coffee shops in all of the country’s main cities, with the first ones set to open by this summer.

The agreement is the latest in a string of efforts to boost the group’s activities outside of Greece, which already include deals for the development of the chains in Albania, Montenegro, Kosovo, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Belarus, the United Arab Emirates, as well as the operation of another 20 outlets in Cyprus, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary.

In its statement, the group stressed that it remains committed to the constant promotion of Greek entrepreneurship in foreign markets.

“It serves to prove that the suffering Greek entrepreneurship doubtlessly possesses the capacity to successfully compete on an international level and make an impression,” Thanasis Papanikolaou, the group’s food catering managing director, stated.
