Self-employed Greeks able to claim unemployment pay for first time

The self-employed in Greece will be able to claim unemployment benefits for the first time from Monday.

Applicants have to have worked for at least three years and been without a job from January 1, 2012.

The monthly unemployment benefit will be 360 euros.

The jobless rate in Greece reached 26.4 percent in February, according to Eurostat. This is the highest figure in the eurozone.
